I'm now back from India. As written below it was really an extraordinary experience. Nothing worked as we had planned, but it was the right decision to go straight to Goa. I bought an Indian Bass Flute (hope to find some time for practicing) and a large singing bowl and I did loads of recordings of nightly jungle, the Arabian Sea, a tropical thunderstorm, etc. [read more]
Hi all. I'm currently sitting in an internet "cafe" in Patnem, Goa. We were about to travel to the North of India first, but changed our plans due to several reasons.
India is an impressive experience, but all the dirt and poverty in the bigger cities is really disgusting.
Unfortunately my cell phone broke somewhere on the first day (display damaged) so I couldn't even try to write blog postings.

I will fly to India as a holiday tomorrow morning together with two good friends. Consequently all shop orders will be delayed until I'm back (17th of October). I have my smartphone with me, so I will try to blog wherever it's possible - if it's possible at all.
Of course I also have a microphone with me - however it is not my beloved NT4 this time, as I fear losing it or it being stolen.

I will post a 'sound of the month' every month. The first one is a field recording I made this summer at an old hydroelectricity plant in the middle of the night. I love the industrial and yet very meditative feeling it has. Probably will use it in my next Album.

Unfortunately I'm one of those individuals being more interested in developing and improving software than to actually using it. So I worked on a major update of this little big content management system thing that maintains and manages the complete False Mirror website. There are several changes coming with the new CMS version 0.2:
Instead of a newsletter I now offer an Atom 1.0 feed which you can access from this blog page you are currently reading. I'm pretty sure it will be worth subscribing, I will post much more frequently here than I did onto the old news page. I also will upload some free tracks, concert recordings, music software or sounds for you from time to time which can be downloaded on the new Downloads section.
