Just a short note for those who are interested: I will be at the EMU (Experimental Music Ulm) show at free German radio station free FM this Sunday night, 23:00-24:00 GMT+1, and will talk about my music and the NORTH CD. The show is moderated by Klaus Schmidtke.
There is also an internet livestream for those of you who live beyond the sender's range.

Fitting the wintry moods of present nature, the iciness of snow & frost and the darkness of desolation, my new CD NORTH is finally out now. Over 70 minutes of dark and cold ambience that will make you freeze. Buy one now, and buy another one afterwards and finally don't forget the one you wanted to buy for your grandmother.
If you are not sure yet, you can have a preview listen into all tracks, just navigate to the releases page and click on the track titles.

I've returned safely from Iceland a couple of days ago. Unfortunately I have to inform you that NORTH is delayed to the 12th of October now as they had some problems with the printing of the booklet.
As kind of compensation for the delay I have uploaded you a recording of a small live ambient concert I gave at the Culture Night here in Ulm.
You find it here: false_mirror_live_at_kulturnacht_ulm.mp3 [68.3 MB].

The album will be released on the 8th of August.
I was always impressed by arctic surroundings and the early expeditions to the poles. This is the mood of the album, like an arctic expedition somewhere into nowhere.
The best way to bring some iciness into this sweltering summer.
I will celebrate the release of the album by visiting the North in August going trekking in Iceland and collecting new inspirations for forthcoming albums .

Not yet. Rather the 'Chronostatic Scenes' album is released now! The CD can be bought at the Databloem/Dataobscura website (or anywhere else you find it). For those of you who prefer listening to music on digital media there is also the availability of downloading the whole album as MP3 (with a bitrate of 192 kbps) at a reasonable price. You can find preview downloads on the releases page (just click the small tracknames) and on the website above. I apologize for the delay that went along with the release of the album and which was chiefly out of my control. [read more]

After two weeks of hard work it is done. The FalseMirror.de website is finally online. Most effort was spent on the powerful content management system in the background I programmed up from the scratch. The page is completely XHTML1.1 (valid) but only rendered as XML if you have a XML-capable browser (which e.g. Internet Explorer is not).
You're perhaps asking yourself why I have chosen another alias besides Gras. The answer is that the next album will be in a very different style from what I had released so far (check the previews on the releases page). The name False Mirror comes from a painting of Rene Magritte (orig. "Faux Miroir"). I don't like the picture that much (there are much more admirable pictures from Magritte), but I think the title fits very well.
